Angle

Stainless steel angle is a long strip of steel with two sides perpendicular to each other in the shape of an angle, which is mainly divided into two categories:equal-edged stainless steel angle and unequal stainless steel angle. Specifications are expressed in millimetres of side width × side width × side thickness.

SS Profile Materials

Stainless steel sections can be divided into the following main types according to metallurgical organization.

1.Austenitic (such as 304, 316 series)

  • Non-magnetic or weakly magnetic, containing chromium (18%-20%) and nickel (8%-10%), strengthened by cold working.
  • Typical applications: food equipment (304), seawater equipment (316), medical devices (316L), etc.

2.Ferritic (such as 430, 409L series)

  • Magnetic, containing chromium (12%-30%), free of nickel, excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion.
  • Typical applications: automotive exhaust (409L), appliance trim (430), etc.

3.Martensitic (e.g. 410, 420 series)

  • High carbon content (0.1%-1.2%), high strength and hardness obtained by heat treatment, but poor corrosion resistance.
  • Typical applications: cutting tools (420), machine parts (410), etc.

4.Duplex Stainless Steel (austenite – ferrite mixed organization)

  • Combined austenitic and ferrite properties, high strength and resistance to pitting and stress corrosion.
  • Typical applications: chemical equipment, offshore structures.

5.Precipitation Hardening (e.g. 630/17-4PH)

  • Improved hardness and strength through precipitation hardening, while maintaining corrosion resistance.
  • Typical applications: aerospace components, precision springs, etc.

Sure.The grades we use, such as 304 and 316, are inherently weldable and are manufactured by the ISO 15614 welding code. The profile can be joined using conventional welding (TIG/MIG) processes. After welding, the joints retain strength and corrosion resistance.
