430 Stainless Steel Coil

430 Stainless steel is a ferritic stainless steel (straight chromium grade) with a body-centered cubic lattice structure and is therefore magnetic, unlike the austenitic stainless steel 304/316.

430 stainless steel coil is a versatile ferritic alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance and good formability, offering superior polishability and heat resistance.

430 stainless steel coil is available in a wide range of thickness and width, lengths can be customized.

제품 설명

430 Stainless Steel Coil is a versatile ferritic alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance and good formability. With superior performance in moderately corrosive environments, it is an economical alternative to higher-grade stainless steels for indoor and mild application scenarios. 430 stainless steel is naturally magnetic, provides heat resistance and structural stability for kitchen appliances and decorative panels.

Corrosion Resistance and Environmental Adaptability

  • Resistant to atmospheric corrosion, fresh water, steam, organic acids and nitric acid (especially after surface polishing).
  • Resistance to stress corrosion cracking superior to 304 stainless steel.
  • High temperature oxidation resistance: intermittent use ≤ 870°C, continuous use ≤ 815°C.

Limitations:

  • Susceptible to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments (e.g. seawater) or at low pH.
  • May become embrittled with prolonged exposure to 400-600°C, need to be annealed to restore toughness.

Ferritic & Magnetic

Grade 430 belongs to ferritic stainless steel family, containing about 17% chromium, with natural magnetic with excellent corrosion resistance.

Heat resistance

Lower thermal expansion than 304 and high oxidation stability, suitable for the manufacture of heat-resistant components (e.g. oven fittings, boiler tubes).

Good formability

Excellent deep-drawn and cold-formed properties (similar to 304), can form complex structures with little deformation after welding.

Polished Surface Finishes

Bright and brushed surfaces (2B, No.4, HL, BA, mirror, etc.) can be applied for a smooth and beautiful appearance.

Economical

Nickel-free or low nickel content, significantly less expensive than 304/316; provides the required performance in mild environments, making it an ideal cost-oriented solution.

Compared with other Stainless Steels

430 Stainless Steel vs 304:

  • 430 is cheaper (nickel-free/low nickel) and more magnetic, but less corrosion resistant (especially in chloride environments).
  • 430 is harder but less ductile and weldable

430 Stainless Steel vs 316

The corrosion resistance of 430 is much lower than 316, not suitable for marine or highly corrosive environments. Under long-term high-temperature environments need to be annealed periodically.
