321 Stainless Steel Tubing (UNS S32100) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that belongs to the 18-8 series of alloys.By adding titanium (Ti) to the alloy to inhibit chromium carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures, significantly improving resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially in high temperature environments from 800 °F to 1500 °F (approximately 427 °C to 816 °C).

321H (UNS S32109) is a titanium (Ti)-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that is a high-carbon modified version of grade 321, with a carbon content of 0.04 % to 0.10 %. Compared to 321, 321H maintains higher strength and creep resistance above 1000 °F (approximately 538 °C), making it suitable for higher temperature service.
1. Resistance to Intergranular Corrosion
The addition of titanium inhibits CrC precipitation, prevents intergranular corrosion after welding, especially suitable for long-term work in temperatures from 800 °F-1500 °F.
2. High-temperature Strength
321 stainless steel maintains good strength,creep and stress rupture properties at 1500 °F (approximately 816 °C), superior to 304/304L, suitable for aircraft engines, heat exchangers and boiler piping.
3. Uitstekende corrosiebestendigheid
High chromium-nickel content resists oxidizing and acidic corrosion, making it suitable for use in the chemical and petroleum industries.
4. Good Weldability
Like other austenitic grades,321 has excellent welding characteristics.Post-weld annealing is not required,and the weld heat-affected zone is still resistant to intergranular corrosion.
5. Low Temperature Toughness
Non-magnetic in annealed condition, good low temperature toughness.
6. Moderate Cost
Compared with molybdenum-containing 316/317, 321 is more cost-competitive, and its performance meets the needs of most high-temperature occasions.
