304 stainless steel is a widely utilized austenitic stainless steel known for its exceptional corrosion resistance, strength, and versatility, can be stable in a variety of harsh environments
304 stainless steel welded pipe is an austenitic stainless product rolled and fusion-welded along its length. It contains roughly 18–20% chromium and 8–11% nickel, giving it excellent general corrosion and oxidation resistance, and formability, which makes it stable in a variety of harsh environments.
ASTM A312 covers 304/304L grades for both seamless and welded pipe, specify its mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements, intended for high-temperature and corrosive service, suitable for medium and low pressure fluid transportation and decorative needs.
Depending on the process and application, stainless steel welded pipes can be classified as straight seam welded (LSAW), spiral welded (SSAW) or high frequency welded (ERW), and are available in a wide range of surface options, such as pickled, polished or mirror finish.
As a professional stainless steel welded pipe supplier, we are committed to providing you with high quality and customized 304 stainless steel welded pipe to ensure the smooth progress of your project.

1. Excellent corrosion resistance
The 18% Cr content forms a passive oxide film that resists rust and weak acids, giving excellent corrosion resistance in atmospheric, fresh water, and many chemical environments.
2. High strength and durability
High mechanical strength to withstand moderate pressures and temperatures, ensuring stable long-term operation.
3. Flexible customization
A wide range of sizes, materials and surface finish options are available to meet different project requirements.
4. Easy maintenance
Smooth surfaces are less prone to dirt accumulation, easy to clean and maintain, reducing operating costs.
5. Cost-effective
Compared to seamless tubes, welded pipes are cheaper to produce, making them ideal for bulk purchases.
6. Environmentally sustainable
100% recyclable, meeting green industry standards.
Tensile Strength: ≥75 ksi (≈515 MPa) (typical annealed 304 pipe).
Yield Strength: ≥30 ksi (≈205 MPa)Elongation: ≥28% (in 2″ gauge), indicating high ductility.
Hardness: 188 HB (max) typical; work-hardened if bent or welded.
Temperature: Excellent strength at elevated temperatures. 304 SS retains its properties at high service temperatures (up to ~870°C continuous, ~925°C intermittent). It also remains tough at cryogenic temps.
Due to its corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, 304 stainless steel welded pipes are widely used in the following fields:
304 Welded pipe is made by forming and welding plate or strip. It is more economical and available in longer continuous lengths than seamless. However, seamless pipe (drawn from billet) has a uniform grain structure without a weld seam, giving slightly higher strength and pressure capacity.
Seamless tubes are suitable for applications requiring high strength, high pressure and high tightness, but are more expensive; welded tubes are more suitable for applications with limited budgets and low strength requirements.
Suggestions: Choose the right process and surface finish according to project requirements. ( polished for sanitary use)
Note: Choose a supplier that complies with ASTM A312 or EN 10217-7 standards to ensure product quality.
