201 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe is a low-nickel austenitic stainless steel pipe, known for its low cost and high corrosion resistance, suitable for low and medium corrosion environments.

201 stainless steel belongs to the Cr-Ni-Mn series of austenitic stainless steels. By adding manganese (Mn) and nitrogen (N) to replace the nickel (Ni), it maintains the stability of the austenitic structure while reducing costs. It also offers good corrosion resistance, high strength, and good machinability, making it suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments.

Cr: 16.0~18.0% 

N: ≤0.25% 

P: ≤0.060% 

S: ≤0.030%

Ni: 3.5~5.5%

Elongation: ≥40%

Hardness: ≤241HB

Density: 7.64~7.93 g/cm³

201 stainless steel has good plasticity in the annealed condition, but plasticity significantly decreases after cold working

201 Vs. 304 Stainless Steel

201 stainless steel seamless pipe is an economical austenitic stainless steel with cost-effectiveness. Through an alloy design substituting manganese and nitrogen for nickel, it offers strength levels similar to 304 in dry, low-corrosion environments. However, its corrosion resistance in chloride media is only 30-40% that of 304.

Although 201 stainless steel seamless pipe is not as corrosion-resistant as 304 stainless steel, it remains a viable alternative for certain applications where extremely high corrosion resistance is not required.
