Product Description

1.4301 stainless steel, also known as 304 stainless steel, is a widely used austenitic stainless steel, a general-purpose stainless steel, with excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, machining properties and welding properties, widely used in various industries.

We procure 1.4301 plate directly from leading stainless steel mills (Baosteel, TISCO, etc.), adopt high-quality base steel (e.g. Baosteel, Shougang) and have ISO/BV/SGS certification, ensuring consistent material.

Our plates strictly comply with ASTM A240 and EN 10088-2 standards (DIN 1.4301,X5CrNi18-10). We control flatness and dimensions to tight tolerances within ± 0.2 mm, to ensure that each roll (plate) is standard 18Cr-8Ni (304) grade uniform thickness and flatness.

1.4301 Stainless Steel Sheet Limitations

When selecting 1.4301 stainless steel plate, the following environments should be avoided:

  • Chloride environments: susceptible to pitting/ crevice corrosion, not suitable for seawater or pool equipment.
  • Sulfuric acid environment: no tolerance (not applicable at any concentration).
  • Intergranular corrosion risk: Chromium depleted areas may occur due to chromium carbide precipitation after welding or heat treatment at 450-850°C; process control is required
  • Stress corrosion cracking: high risk in chloride environments above 60℃.
