JBL Stainless offers the GB NM600 Wear Resistant Steel Plate Sheet in stock. This thick-walled plate is highly hard and wear-resistant, specially designed to withstand high wear conditions. It is of high quality and low price, and free sample customization is available. It can be processed through deep processing (such as stamping, bending, etc.) or rough processing (such as shearing, cutting, etc.).“N” stands for “wear-resistant” (resistant),
“M” stands for “wear-resistant” (wear),
“600” indicates that its average Brinell hardness value is approximately 600HBW, demonstrating its wear resistance.

The NM600 not only offers 600 HBW-level wear resistance but also maintains a certain level of impact resistance.
Pay attention to the thickness specifications (commonly 6 – 100mm) and surface treatments (such as quenching and tempering). It is recommended to select the appropriate hardness grade based on the specific working conditions to avoid excessive procurement and cost increase. In addition, when conducting welding processing, preheating and post-heating treatment should be noted to prevent cracking.
Choosing the NM600 means that you must accept its extremely strict processing and manufacturing limitations as well as its extremely high overall cost. It is almost never used as a structural component, but rather as a wear-resistant liner or a vulnerable part, which is fixed to the base through bolts or special welding techniques. Its application is a systematic project that requires deep collaboration among material suppliers, equipment manufacturers and end-users. It is usually only used in extremely harsh working conditions where “wear costs are extremely high and downtime losses are huge”.
Steel can be smelted in either a converter furnace or an electric furnace, and then undergoes external refining.
It is necessary to ensure that the components are firmly fixed to avoid damage caused by concentrated impact loads. Regularly check for wear and tear, and replace overly worn components in a timely manner to maintain equipment efficiency. During storage and transportation, avoid damp environments to prevent rusting.
In industrialized countries, approximately 30% of energy consumption is attributed to wear and tear. Each year, the amount of steel consumed due to abrasive wear in industrial machinery and equipment exceeds 1 million tons. Low-alloy high-strength wear-resistant steel can be widely applied in mining machinery, construction machinery, and other equipment. The NM600 grade low-alloy high-strength wear-resistant steel, as the highest level of wear-resistant steel, is of great significance for energy conservation and consumption reduction.
” In the field of heavy equipment and material transportation, wear is the silent enemy of efficiency and cost. jblstainless GB/T 24186-2022 NM600 Wear Resistant Steel Plate achieves this through a composite structure of martensitic matrix and carbide particles, allowing microscopic ‘hard anchors’ to precisely block the invasion of abrasive materials. With a hardness of 600HBW, it enables equipment such as mining trucks and buckets to have an extremely long service life – but remember: extreme impact conditions require a balance between hardness and toughness, and the welding process is the key to success or failure.”
